Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
BRH is a 327-bed acute care facility serving the needs of Brandon, and eastern and southern Hillsborough County communities.

The Auxiliary totals more than 200 men and women who perform a wide range of services for the patients, guests and staff of Brandon Regional Hospital. These include operating two gifts shops, the information desk and the dispatch service. The volunteers continue to provide each pediatric inpatient with Snuggles, a handmade elephant that has served as the hospitals mascot since it opened. They also donate extra items such as games and tapes for use by pediatric patients, childrens table and chairs to some of the hospitals main waiting rooms and isolet coverlets for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. All of this is done to make our patients stay a more pleasant experience.

The Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization and proceeds from the hospital gift shops and other volunteer fundraisers are used to provide scholarships for those in the Brandon area pursuing careers in the medical field. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need, and more than 600,000 has been given to students since the programs inception. In addition, approximately 20,000 is distributed to various local charities each year.

The Auxiliary also sponsors a Summer Volunteen program in conjunction with the American Red Cross. Red Cross-certified high school students ages 14 to 17, may gain experience volunteering in a wide range of services. This program is the largest Red Cross hospital program in the area, with close to 100 students participating each summer.
